Joy Behar Loses It As She Discusses Her Joke About A Co-Host’s Dead Dog

On Thursday morning, viewers of ABC’s daytime talk show The View was appalled to hear how Joy Behar allegedly made a crude and unusual joke about her co-host Sara Haines’s dog that had recently died. According to a report published by Decider, Behar’s journey to making the joke about her colleague’s dead dog began during a segment about the hilarious comedian Ali Wong, who is not afraid to talk about pregnancy or make jokes about being a mother.

While speaking about Ali Wong’s unique style of comedy, Behar and her co-hosts began a discussion about how single people enjoy more freedom than those who are married or have children because they do not have to live their lives around the needs and wants of their children or spouses.

As a mother of three children, Haines spoke up about how it is very difficult being a parent, even though she enjoys many privileges as a Hollywood entertainer. Haines confessed that she is jealous of single people or those without kids who do not need to adjust their schedules to fit their children’s lives day after day.

“My chihuahuas had better bladders than my kids,” Haines said.

Behar asked the follow-up question, “You actually have chihuahuas and three children?!”

Haines clarified that she no longer had the Chihuahuas because the dogs had died. She said:

“No, I had Chihuahuas. They passed — you were here for both of their passings!”

Behar, who is eighty years old, made it abundantly clear that she did not remember that Haines’s dogs had passed away while they were working on The View together as co-hosts. She said, “I always block bad things like that.”

Haines, on the other hand, remembered exactly the way Behar had treated her following the death of her small dogs. She decided to tell the audience of The View right then and there about the crude remark Behar had made following the deaths of Haines’s two Chihuahuas, which were beloved by Haines and her family until the day they were gone.

“I had a balloon at my birthday, and you go, ‘Oh, is that the dead one?’” Haines said.

Behar was furious that Haines would bring something up that would make the 80-year-old host of The View look bad. She lashed out at Haines, claiming that she never said the quote, “I did not say that!”

Haines tried to provide the audience of The View with more details about how Behar had treated her horribly following the death of her dogs. But Behar, 80, shut her co-host down before she could say anything else that made Behar look bad, saying: “Oh, be quiet!”

In other news, Behar, who celebrated her eightieth birthday in October, has no plans to step down or retire from The View. However, some people are beginning to question whether or not she is experiencing senility.

“I just signed a contract, so I’ll be here for a while,” Behar told People Magazine around the time of her birthday. “I have no plans to retire.”

“It’s really, you know, something that is an important show in many ways,” she went on to say of the ABC talk show. “Sometimes I don’t believe that, as I’ve been here since the beginning, but we’re the most-watched show in the daytime. Most-watched! I’m happy to be a part of it. So no, I’m not going anywhere. I’m having a good time.”
