A Simple Snow Message from a Farmer That No One Expected

A South Dakota family farm has gone viral for turning fresh snow into a stunning holiday message. Prunty Farms, a fifth-generation operation, shared a video showing farmer Dan Prunty using a John Deere 6400 tractor to write “Merry Christmas” in flowing cursive across 10 inches of snow. The footage, titled “Deere Tracks,” was captured from above by Dan’s son, Adam Prunty, using a drone.

The aerial perspective showcased the tractor’s precise movements as the festive message slowly appeared in the snow-covered field. Adam explained that the design was created freehand. He first practiced the route himself, then filmed his father following the same path while piloting the drone. The final result was both mesmerizing and unexpected, quickly gaining attention online.

Many viewers were introduced to the concept of tractor snow art for the first time, impressed by the creativity and precision involved. The project highlights more than seasonal artistry. Adam has been using drone footage to document farm life for several years, turning it into a hobby that celebrates both tradition and modern innovation. His videos provide a unique glimpse into rural life, blending family farming heritage with contemporary technology.

The “Deere Tracks” video demonstrates that creativity can emerge in the most unexpected places. By combining agricultural skill, family collaboration, and modern tools, Prunty Farms delivered a simple yet powerful message of holiday cheer—etched across a snowy South Dakota field and shared with audiences around the world.
